I was gifted this rifle in 6.5 prc last Christmas and have about 300 rounds through it now. This rifle has absolutely blown my expectations out of the water, I originally thought this was a budget rifle so I wasn’t expecting much out of it but I will say this rifle does not shoot like a budget rifle! I have been shooting both 147 gr eld m and 156 gr berger eol and have found loads with both bullets. I cant recommend this rifle enough!!! I cant wait to knock down some animals with it

Bought mine a couple years ago via Bud’s Guns. Need a new rifle in 350 Legend to allow me to hunt in southern MI (straight wall cartridge rules). Wonderful little rifle, very accurate. Topped with a 2- 7 scope, this combo works great in lower Michigan.
I have had an occasional failure to extract as some brass shavings build up under the extractor. After a cleaning it works fine again – seems like a sharp edge on the extractor.

Well after a year of purchasing the obsidian chambered in 6.5-300 using the 127gr Barnes LRX all I can say is phenomenal! I’m very happy this is my third Weatherby rifle and all shoot sub moa 100 ,200 and 300 yards no problem. I do have muzzle brakes on them which helps a lot and I use Barnes projectiles on all my Weatherby rifles. My next purchase sometime soon will be a mark V can’t say which model or caliber don’t want to spoil the next review. Thanks again rifles meets my expectations.

Got my Obsidian add the muzzle break, Bore sighted it for 100 yards. Set my scope on 100 yards when I sighted it. Fired one shot and right on the edge of the center right. Adjusted 1/2 inch to the left for center. This is my second Weatherby Vanguard. This has been the EASIEST gun that I have owned to sight in. I’m almost 70 years old and I know that when I am gone that my grandkids will have a quality rifle that will be there that they can depend for years to come to guarantee meat 🖠in the freezer. My other Vanguard is a7mm Remington and it has fulfilled this without fail and will continue to fill this role. For me it’s Weatherby or else I would consider taking up a slingshot. ♥ï¸my Weatherby’s

Purchased in 6.5-300, it shot decent,
about 1″ all day, swapped the stock to a Bell and Carlson had it glass bedded and left the barrel contact pads in the aftermarket stock. Its a 5/8″ 4 shot rifle. For hunting I can’t ask for better in my opinion. First two shots always touch or better. I do question the pencil thin barrel. But, overall, great firearm, smooth, fantastic trigger if you set it low and familiarize yourself with the two stage setup. Mine may be a fluke, but I love the trigger. Crisp , smooth. The saftey feels like crap 😆 but otherwise the gun is highly recommended. I plan on buying a couple more later this year.

After shopping for several months I decided upon a Weatherby Vanguard Obsidian in .22-250 for my new rifle. It is outstanding in every way! Far more accurate than I am capable of and very comfortable to shoot. I was so pleased I bought another Vanguard Obsidian in .308 Win. It has only reinforced my positive feelings for the Weatherby Vanguard line. I may purchase a .25-06 in the next few months – if I do it will be a Weatherby Vanguard Obsidian.

I purchased the Obsidian in 6.5 Creedmoor. Sub MOA is an understatement I was getting .03-0.6 MOA using Hornady 129 Grain Whitetail hunter and Hornady 143 Grain ELD-X This firearm is an awesome gun for any hunter or shooter out there. The grips on the stock make rifle feel great Smooth bolt and the trigger is the best on the market for a factory trigger. Plus I added the optional muzzle brake though Weatherby. This is the best rifle on the market when it comes to economical guns..
