The third run of D. Weatherby Forged knives has arrived, offering another limited-edition opportunity. This unique 6.5-300 drop point hunting knife features an expertly crafted San Mai Damascus blade that is forged from a stainless steel Accumark barrel and a high-carbon steel rod, then acid-etched for increased durability. It is paired with a stunning, fully custom handle made from buffalo horn and amber stag antler. For a signature Weatherby touch, a 6.5-300 case head is embedded in the pommel. A custom-fitted leather sheath is included.

Description

Handcrafted San Mai Blade for the Field

This custom drop point hunting knife was forged out of a stainless Weatherby rifle barrel. A 52100 high carbon steel rod was placed inside the barrel before forging. This created a very unique and beautiful San-Mai Damascus pattern, with the cutting edge of the blade at 60 HRC after heat treatment.

The 3/16 inch thick blade is 4 3⁄„8 inches long while the knife’s overall length is 9 and 3/8 inches.

The blade is paired with a fully-custom buffalo horn and amber stag antler handle. A 6.5-300 Weatherby Magnum shell case head embedded in the pommel illustrates the blade’s unique origin. The blade’s finish is acid etched for better corrosion resistance in the field. Included with the blade is a custom molded leather sheath.
